Moon pictures through a telescope

Last night it was really clear and really nice, and almost a full moon, so we broke out the new telescope for the the first time and used it to look at the moon. I took some pictures just by holding the camera to the telescope eyepiece which came out surprisingly well. Next time I’ll use a tripod, but the secret seemed to be to set a high iso (which accounts for the noise in the pictures) and step down the exposure by -2 since the moon was so bright. I really didn’t need to photoshop these too much at all either so I was pretty happy as a first attempt.

It was alot of fun, so I am guessing these will be the first of many this summer. Here’s the pictures:
